美国加拿大的生活成本对比：各有所长

我也觉得，他们真累！恕我无礼，长篇大论我直接跳过了，剩下的只有一点印象：meister的数据与逻辑似乎更有说服力，特别是关于人均车辆保有量的数据 - 虽然我不一定认同加拿大的生活水平比美国高。

在两边都住过，感觉生活质量差不多，加国的工作环境轻松一些（同一个行业）。
美国有很多地方比较暖和，加国我感觉气候最好的地方是多伦多多附近但还是比较冷，BC冬天太潮湿了受不了。
让我选，我更愿意住加拿大。

First of all, I went to USA last month, from Toronto- Orlando, driving, whatever how good USA is heard from others, but I Don't think what the big different between Canada and America. Just all civilians know the big difference between two countries according to Price of goods(Gas price, house price and living expense), but nothing else...
   After I came back home, I check the economy of two countries from Wikipedia. It says that America has Gross external debt $14.39 trillion (30 Sept 2010), but Canada only has Gross external debt $1.009 trillion (30 June 2010) , also, another point is very interesting that Public Debt of America is 14 trillion(93% of GDP and their GDP in 2010 is 14.660 trillion), Canada's public debt is only $519.1 billion CAD (Federal, 31-Mar-2010 and Canada's GDP in 2010 is 1.522 US trillion). That mean is American use next next or next generations money to build complementary The United States...

那位＂新来乍到＂看来真是新来乍到，GTA以及其他大城市的人均汽车保有率如果不是最低的也应该是较低的. 农村地区的人均汽车保有率要高不少, 因为那里没有公共交通, 每人一辆车不是奢侈，而是基本生活所需. 在城市里，中学生开车上学很少。但是在农村就很普遍。在多伦多，我有几位家庭收入在$150000以上的同事，家里只有一辆车。同理，你会发现纽约市的人均汽车保有率比水牛城郊区低。

这位老兄说得不错，多伦多因为公共交通比较发达等原因，人均汽车保有量比全国平均水平低。

在农村地区由于生活需要，每个成人都需要自己开车，这样全家平均起来接近人均接近一辆车，这也是事实。

不过除了多伦多地区外，加拿大还有比较其他的大都市区，比如Montreal，Vancouver，就我所知，Montreal人拥有汽车的比例和多伦多差不多，Vancouver要稍微高些，但是也远没有到人手一辆车的地步。另外，加拿大还有很多百万人口级的都市区，比如Ottawa，Calgary和Edmonton等，在这些城市生活的居民恐怕也不会是人（包括大人和小孩）均一辆车。

总之，3400万人口的加拿大，有2900万辆车是很难想象的事情。当然事实上也没有这么多车。

You don't really understand Canada. The average Canadians live much better than the average Americans. The well off Americans live much, much better than well off Canadians. If you think you are among the well off people in North America with annual family income of over $300,000 no matter which country you live, just move to America. That will be good for you. As for the number of cars, some Canadians in the rural areas have more than one car per person in the family. They have summer cars and their winter cars that are basically junk. I lived in an average size city (500,000+) in Canada for about 20 years before coming to Toronto. I have a colleague who is single and has 7 cars laying around in his lot. He moves the insurance between cars and usually drives two car during any given month. All his cars are registered. Get it now? It's so hard to push anything into you guys heads.
