The answer is yes.  There are too many states in USA.  The standards vary from states to states: the highest is California. Ontario will be adopting California standards, so in a few years, you will see our price go up.

If you import automobiles from USA, please ensure their emission standards meet those in Canada; otherwise, you can't register yours here.

Standards in richer states such as New York and mid-west are fine.  Those in the poorer south or deep south such as Mississippi, Alabrama, and Georgia (the so-called MAG) may not be good enough.

I guess you have the following problems:

1. never read.

2. never post your arguments, but curse others.

如果你已经有了加拿大的另一辆车的保险和驾照, 就可以到美国把车开到海关办手续(先别注销原来的车牌), 其他就解决了.

所以南下买车只适合于已经在开车的人. 不熟的就别自己做.
