I will graduate from College in June. I am thinking of finding a job so that I can apply for immigration. I have work experience in China ( 22 months). I decide to do all of this on my own. There are certain things I am not sure. I wonder if there is anyone who could help me with these?
• If I got a job here, do I still need to have the Settlement Fee which is approximately $10,000?
• I will have three months to find a job after the graduation. Does that mean I have to get the work permit in three months? If so, three months is really not enough since it takes 2 to 6 weeks to get the permit from CIC Canada.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
PS: My NJ Star broke down today.
I have just done all of the work permit process. Don't worry about that 3 months limit. Since you send out your application, your legal status will not be affected until you get the result back from CIC.
Also, for the first question, according to the CIC website, there is an exception for settle fee, if you have a qualified job, it is possible to have less than $10000 for one person.
