老外从不吝啬夸奖别人．他们夸赞的话，也往往让人听了飘飘然．重要的是他们这种能够欣赏别人忧点的性格是很值得称道的．

关于flatter, 还有一个用法是 I am flattered.

在Friends一个episode里，一个陌生人和monica调情，monica就说Iam flattered, however, I am engaged....blah, blah...and then showed the man her engagement ring.

So if you are a MM and do not like the man who flirts with you, this word may be a polite way to decline him.
