If your car still doesn't start, do not continue adding additional amounts of gas line antifreeze. Waiting for the temperature to warm up or having your vehicle taken to a mechanic may be your only options. Buying Gas Line Antifreeze The good news is that trying gas line antifreeze isn't going to cost you a bundle and they all contain basically the same ingredients. Your local auto parts store will have products selling for anywhere from just over $1 up to $4 per bottle. A bottle of two of the most popular brands, Pyroil or Heet, will cost around $2 per bottle. You can also purchase a slightly more expensive product that includes multiple additives such as Heet Fuel Line Antifreeze, Water Remover and Fuel Injector Cleaner.
Gas line antifreeze isn't expensive, so it's worth a try as a preventive measure in extremely cold or wet conditions. It's also worth giving it a shot if you do end up with a frozen gas line or water in your fuel system.
