今天给我们选区的MPP发信反对福特的做法,诸位可以参考:
Dear Mr. / Ms ...,
My name is ..., a resident of (your own) community.
I’m a member of Ontario PC and Conservative Party of Canada. I voted for PC in every election of Ontario and for Conservative Party in almost all national elections. I voted you, Mr. / Ms ..., in June.
I am writing to you to express my concern regarding to the recent action by primeur Ford, that he plans to invoke the notwithstanding clause for the court ruling of Bill 5.
Even I do not live in the city of Toronto, I support improvement of efficiency and cost-cutting in general. I felt Bill 5 was a bit rush when the campaign of municipal election had started, however I did not (and do not) oppose Bill 5.
Yesterday’s court ruling was a surprise to Ontarians myself included, however I feel strongly the premier’s reaction is unnecessary and even irrational.
Using notwithstanding clause is like opening a pandora box with serious consequences . I support the idea that provinces and elected officials should have the right to use the clause, it definitely should be used with extreme caution and notwithstanding court ruling for Bill 5 is not an appropriate action.
We the people elect officials to authorize them to represent us until the next election, this by no means is an authorization of abusing the power.
Charter is the soul of canadians and it gives us the reason to live in this land, let’s treasure it, protect it not abuse it.
I would not vote for PC in the next election, should Mr. Ford do not reconsider his action.
Sincerely ,
