I was International Student before I became a landed immigrant. My opinion is it is up to what do they want.
, College or University? It depends on the child's English skill. If the child doesn't have strong English skill, only can go to college.
, Tuition fee. Probably CAD$11,000 a year. Plus living fee, it will cost at least $20,000 to $25,000
, If the parents do not expect the child to become an Canadian in the future, they can support the child here at young age, such as 18 or 10. If they do expect the child stay in Canada if it is possible, then the child should be gratuated from an University in China and have a few years working experience. Studying in Canada will be a plus for the child to apply immigrate in Canada.
, If their family financial situation is not so strong, better do not bother. Canada is not a place easy to make money, the child will suffer a lot here. I think we all remember a Chinese student died in the restaurant while he was working because he over tired. We don't want this happen again.
, A lot parents in China believe once the child comes to Canada, will make a lot money by working in restaurant or other labor job. Yes, compared with their income, it is a lot. But it is not even enough to support themselves here.
, I still suggest the child should have certain education in China before comes to Canada |
