Jamison Childress' death no closure for murder victim Brando Walker's family, but it's the accused killer's family's worst nightmare.

Jamison Childress was to be among those charged in the death of Calgary's Brando Walker, RCMP say
U.S. border agents gun down man suspected in Tsuu T'ina homicide.
Whatcom County’s prosecuting attorney says the border patrol agent who gunned down a Calgary murder suspect trying to escape to the U.S. was justified.
Dave McEachran told the Bellingham Herald the agent backed off from 20-year-old Jamison Childress as far as he could and was attacked with bear spray before shooting Childress in the head.
Officials say Childress was caught trying to illegally cross the border south of Abbotsford, B.C.
Alberta RCMP were in the process of getting a warrant for Childress’ arrest on a charge of first-degree murder in connection to the slaying of Brando Walker.
Childress tried to cross shortly before 2:30 p.m. May 19, tripping a sensor and then fleeing from the responding agent, leading to a face-off with police and another agent who later shot him.
Childress is alleged to have shouted at authorities, “Kill me!” and “Just (expletive) shoot me!”
“Officers try to look for a way not to do that and in this case the officer retreated as far as he could. His concern is for his safety and that of all of the other officers there. Certainly this was a very justified use of deadly force,” McEachran told the Bellingham Herald.
“The officer was sprayed before he fired,” he said. “The officers could see this huge cloud sprayed. It was coming right at his face, he shot his gun at that point, then was overcome by the spray.”
Also accused in the slaying are Chad William Gosselin, 21, charged accessory to murder, Dylan Steven Cameron, 20, charged with manslaughter and a 15-year-old charged with second-degree murder. |
