– Veracity: “Anal Play 101” is not a lesson plan — the title comes from an online article on the Planned Parenthood Toronto website. In Grade 7, children learn how to communicate that they don’t want to have sex, including anal sex. They learn that it’s best to wait until they are older to have any kind of sexual activity. They also learn how STIs are transmitted during sex, including anal sex.

– Veracity: There is no such lesson called “making sex feel good” — the title comes from an online article on the Planned Parenthood Toronto website. Pornography is not brought up until Grade 9, and then only in the context of staying safe online.

In Toronto, almost 35,000 students were absent, a leap of 144 per cent over the previous Monday. In York Region some 2,000 elementary students stayed home, including 70 per cent of students at Teston Village Public School and 40 per cent at Markham Gateway Public School. In Peel Region, 1,170 students stayed home, with some schools missing up to 250 students.

Hardest hit was Toronto’s Thorncliffe Park Public School, where only about 130 children showed up of the usual 1,350 — roughly 90 per cent staying away. At the all-kindergarten school next door, only 90 children showed up of 600, even though the updated health curriculum doesn’t kick in until Grade 1. At nearby Valley Park Middle School, some 590 students were absent out of 950.

“There’s an agenda of promoting the LGBTQ community and, although we know this is a secular society, please don’t come into my home with this,” said parent Abdul Azeem, chair of the Thorncliffe Park’s parent council. “It means we’re indoctrinating children with a minority lifestyle.”

TORONTO - A parent-led campaign to keep children home from class in protest of Ontario's new sexual-education curriculum gained early traction on Monday as the province's largest school board reported tens of thousands of absences.

Ryan Bird, a spokesman with the Toronto District School Board, said 34,762 elementary school students were absent on the first day of the campaign, which was largely organized through Facebook. That's more than double the 14,191 absences recorded last Monday.

At least one of the city's elementary schools had an absentee rate of more than 90 per cent, Bird said. Thorncliffe Park Public School was reporting that 1,220 of its 1,350 students were not in class, he said, adding that about 100 parents had turned up to stage a protest outside the building.

父亲状告教育局2年无果

家住汉密尔顿的Steve Tourloukis有2个孩子（11岁与9岁），都在公校读书。他当了15年的牙医，从40多年前开始信基督教。
Tourloukis在周二的集会上表示，他曾要求孩子就读的学校在实施性教育内容（性取向、堕胎、避孕等）之前通知他，或允许孩子不听这些课。然而，教育局一直没兑现承诺。
Tourloukis在2年半以前把汉密尔顿与 Wentworth区教育局告上安省中级法院（Superior Court）。法官至今没作出判决。他说：“我坚信我会打赢官司。”

案例回顾：

2012年安省曾经有一个比较罕见的案例，据当时的《环球邮报》（Globe and Mail）报道，汉密尔顿（Hamilton）地区一位名叫杜鲁基斯（Steve Tourloukis）的父亲将当地教育局告上法庭。身为牙医的杜鲁基斯是一名希腊正教（Greek Orthodox Church）信徒，他的女儿和儿子在汉密尔顿公立教育局（Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board，简称HWDSB）分别就读1年级和4年级。他向学校要求，在讨论家庭、婚姻及性等问题时应提前发出告知，以便其可以适时决定，是否应该提前对孩子进行教育，或是直接缺席某些课程。但校方指出，如果允许他的孩子不上某些特定课程，某种程度是对其他孩子的歧视，所以拒绝了他的要求，他也因此控告学校教师未能尊重其家庭的宗教信仰。
