Officials in Iraq say a bomb planted on a street full of shoppers in the capital, Baghdad, has killed three people and wounded five.
Police officers say the explosion took place in the capital's predominantly Shiite neighborhood of al-Ameen on Friday morning.
Health officials confirmed the casualty figures. All officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to journalists.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for Friday's attack, but Sunni insurgent groups have stepped up attacks across the country since last year, in a bid to undermine the Shiite-ledgovernment.

Less than two weeks ahead of parliamentary elections, Iraq is struggling to keep a lid on a surge in sectarian violence that has sent bloodshed soaring to levels not seen since the country was pushed to the brink of civil war in 2006 and 2007.
Sunday's deadliest attack took place outside the southern city of Samawah, where two car bombs exploded simultaneously in a commercial area, killing seven civilians and wounding 17, police said. The Shiite city is located 370 kilometers (230 miles) southeast of Baghdad.

看来伊拉克随随便便死些个人的爆炸现在已经是常态，这边的媒体都懒的报了，伊拉克人民的死活跟人家现在已经没有什么关系了，因为人家现在的兴趣在乌克兰。什么普世价值，人权，都是狗P！无利可图，关我鸟事！！！

设想一下，假如这样的爆炸，哪怕是最小的一个，发生在加拿大美国，那可就不得了了。一年前电饭锅炸了一下，你看这动静，昨天波士顿马拉松竟然出洞了好几千警察。可是伊拉克呢？谁管？造孽呀！就这样还操他妈的有人说伊拉克目前鸡的屁挺高应该挺好！！！

BAGHDAD — A campaign rally at a ramshackle old soccer stadium on Friday afternoon began with open-air theater that crossed centuries of Shiite lore, from the martyrdom of a revered religious figure to the fight today against Sunni extremists, played by actors dressed as fighters for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, a radical Islamist group.

It ended with an outbreak of violence, three explosions, one after the other, in the parking lot, as thousands of people were leaving: a car bomb, a suicide bomber and a roadside bomb. More than 30 people were killed and many others wounded in an attack that the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria said in a statement it had carried out.
