I don't think it does matter you are Chinese and local guy. Please don't put it that serious.

To Chinese man, there is more comment sense and understanding. Maybe less smile, less beautiful words to cheer you up, but more stable and reliable, which called responsibility.
Please don't blame Chinese just because of one of your relationships.

To local people, there are plenty of good guys, but how much you could understand? not from his language, from his mind, from heart heart. Maybe it looks more romantic, just like you have read in books, but do you know how much it really means in his heart? I call it culture difference.

I hope you could find a good man, no matter he is Chinese or not.
