租客欠租 求推荐一个讨债公司（collection agency）

租客在拖欠几个月房租后，搬走了。我考虑利用讨债公司追债。请推荐。谢谢！

usually the collectin agency will  keep calling the 租客, made the settlement with the 租客, see how did he pay and  let u know.  the fee  is usually  count  the % of the payment . after deduct the fee the ageny  will send u the cheque. But u still have chance the 租客 change the phone # or address, so the agency can't find them because they are not guarantee to collect all the $$$.

The hearing delay in Ontario alone is the longest in any Canadian jurisdiction, longer than the entire process in four Canadian provinces.

We are asking the provincial government to:

1. clarify the “Tenant” definition. Anyone rent a room in an owner's home should not be subject to the Residential Tenancies Act. You rent a bedroom in a landlord's home. House rules. Regardless weather the owner share the kitchen or bathroom or not.
When the roomer threat the owner's safety, the owner should have right to ask the roomer to leave to avoid further confrontations. Due to the proximity, a hostile roomer can impose a great threat to the owner. Examining the previous several brutal violent incidents (a roomer kidnapped and killed the landlord's 9 year old daughter; a roomer beaten the landlady in coma) those roomers were all live in owner's basement.   A person rent a bedroom in an owner's home is a roomer, should not be subject to the Residential Tenancies Act.

2.
        a. reduce the initial removal notification period from the current 14 days to 5 days;
        b. require hearings to take place in 5 days instead of the current 29 days;
        c. allow private bailiffs to enforce the evictions instead of 6-8 weeks for the sheriff to do it

We ask the provincial government to bring the rent dispute process to both fair to the tenants and the landlord's.

Yes, the more the merrier! Just copy my thread and give it to your MPP, it is free, doesn't cost your anything. Hopefully they will change the law someday, it may take sometime. But if we don't say anything, the tragedy may strike again. The injustice system to the landlords must stop!

We need more people talk to MPP, or to have people to sign a petition, the more the better! if we can get 1000 signature, they have to do something to correct the situation.

You need to get the renter's address in order to serve the paper. Small claim court also have filing fees to pay. You might have to wait for couple of months for the trial. Even if you win the judgement, the biggest challenge is to collect the money.
