Have u found your dog yet? I have a big German Shepherd dog 4 years ago since he was 7 weeks old, so i know how you feel...so instead of being sentimental about people, i'd try to contact your local ponds( animal shelters) as soon as possible...i hope you have a collar on for him  or her with your contact information...if no one claims him within a few days, they will try to have him adopted within again a short period of time...if he shows any sign of aggression, such as dog aggression, food aggression or people aggression...guess what he will be humanely euthenized (killed)...

see your vet too and give them a picture of your dog...post your search flyers at the supermarket...petsmart, etc...
