One suggest is to increase the working hours but not hourly pay, current pay rate is already high. let's say, 60 hours monthly work can earn $2400. And TA contract should be signed by years not by term.
but, this will reduce the TA positions because the budget is limited. by the way heavy teaching work will make TA never graduate or earn their degrees. 80% of TA time should be studying or researching but not working. If TA can not go through the hard life, I would suggest him quit his degree, and get another job to live better. |
