我们还会有一些社区活动 比如Good Food Market (卖当地的新鲜蔬菜水果)，还有8月份的一个大型的社区Fun Fair （Aug 17）

这些活动都是社工跟义工们一起计划和执行的, 是一个很好的学习机会, 我们也会提供义工小时给高中学生

我们是每周四4-6PM在2330 Midland Ave，Scarborough 的華諮處菜园一起做园艺！

Location: 2330 Midland Ave, Scarborough, Ontario M1S 5G5

CICS is looking for youth volunteers to participate in our Youth Urban Agriculture & Environmental Leadership Program that takes place every Thursday 4-6 PM from June - August. This is a great opportunity to learn more about gardening, develop marketing and leadership skills, and harvest your own vegetables and fruits! There will be also fun cooking workshops where you will be able to make food in our community kitchen with the harvests collected from the garden.

Requirements:

• Responsible and dedicated
• 13-21 years old
• Available on Thursdays 4-6 PM (and occasional Fridays 4-6 PM) from June-August
• No experience with gardening is required
  

Responsibilities:

• Learn about market operations, food skills, harvesting techniques, as well as customer service and leadership skills (will be trained)
• Assist in maintaining the community garden and helping it to come into bloom!
• Participate in cooking workshops to make snacks with harvests from the garden
• Co-operate with other volunteers during the Good Food Market to ensure a successful operation
• Plan games and activities for the Annual Community Fun Fair and assist in the execution of them during the day of (Aug 17)
  

Main Events:

• Good Food Markets (4 in total and will be on Fridays) - volunteers will assist in the market operation with various roles such as handling the cash transactions and educating the customers on the benefits of purchasing from good food markets (seasonal, local, fresh)
• Annual Community Fun Fair (Aug 17 Friday) - this is the biggest event that the youth volunteers will play an important role in since it is a full day event that brings the community together with many food vendors, music performances, yoga activities, and games!
