Amazing that the EU and the West bent over backwards to give China most favoured nation status in trade, despite the threat to jobsand the massive abuses of human rights. I don't hear Harriet Harperson or the New LabourGestapo wittering on about the shortcomings of this socialist paradise. Far easier to draw attentention away from the vanishing 'ethical foreign policy' by prosecuting British Aerospace, who alleged crime was to safeguard British jobs for British workers?

Irresponsible spending by the PRC, like loaning money to create a manufacturing base with no expectation that the loans will be repaid, coupled with massive government spending, could force the country into a recession. Millions more will lose their jobs. The new "middle class" suddenly finds themselves out of work. The people will blame the government. Protest could be sever. The fear is that the government will blame the West for the problem. People will buy into this argument and demand action. The next step is military action.

This article is nonsense and blatant fear mongering. Doesn't Britain have a large business in arms trade? And this article shamelessly speaks of the exploitation of Africa. What about all the European countries and your embarrassing historical presence on the African continent? And the UK in particular! Talk about expansionism... The Opium Wars are the perfect hypocrisy - here was your grand old Britain with an incredible trade imbalance because of all the silk, china, tea etc. that you imported from China, but you had nothing China really wanted in exchange except money. So what did you do - you showed them alright. You sold them highly addictive drugs, and repelled their rejection of same by taking over parts of their country and destabilizing their government.
