i am working as a translator in Canada. My boss buys containers of furniture from China, and in the last 3 years, he changed quite some supplier. He has been facing all kinds of problem, not just quality.
for example, last month he order 4 types of chairs from the catalog from a new supplier in ShangHai. The supplier did not reject anything, but after he paid all the money, the supplier informed him the followings: one type of the chair was not in the container, instead, they put about 100 chairs that he did not order/would not order; and the container left. My boss asked me: when he made an order, why would not the supplier explain to him that one type of chair not available? when they decide to put other chairs in the container, why would not them ask him for suggestion? Those 100 other chairs may not be sold if they are not for the market.
I said to him with shame: "why would you think that the Chinese business people think the same as you, a Canadian?"
In many many cases like that in the last 3 years, i lost my confidence with Chinese business, yet i was born in GuangZhou. We did not encounter many problems with the Canadian suppliers, and now worse of all, the china goods are increasing price as for the high value of RMB. My boss is trying to stop buying from China.
What shall we teach the next generation??? To make money? or to have a proper way of life? |
