我刚收到的信息

这位我们熟悉的John 庄，正在他的竞选之旅当中，日日夜夜，步步艰难，但看起来，他蛮快乐，也务实。


我也成功参加过助选，他现在是万锦市议员，几个月的亲身体验，确实感到，加拿大的官，真真正正是公仆，一点一滴，一家一户，太不容易！


BTW:   John 庄先生的 施政纲领与福特市长最接近。

This week was another busy one on the campaign trail for John.  


Earth Day!

Tuesday was Earth Day and John announced his “28 in 10” initiative to restore Toronto’s tree coverage to the historic level of 28 percent that existed before last year’s flood and ice storm.  He planted a tree at the Evergreen Brickworks with CEO, Geoff Cape. We have received some really positive feedback from the announcement.

Toronto Clean Up Day

On Friday John participated in a Cleanup Toronto event at Sunnybrook Hospital and one organized by the Liberty Village BIA. He helped pick up trash with staff from the hospital and business owners in the Liberty Village area.

North York Canvass

Another successful blitz canvass happened Saturday afternoon in the North York area. John spoke to over 100 volunteers before everyone headed out to cover Ward 25, Don Valley West. John spoke with supporters at a local bakery, Patisserie Sebastien and was joined by MP John Carmichael. He donned an apron behind the counter to learn from owner, Charles Imperiale, how to make a proper espresso.

Events, Events, Events...

John went to a wide variety of other events last week. He attended the AMOI Diversity Conference, the HotDocs Premiere, a fundraiser for LAM, the Iranian Canadian Congress Awards Gala, a meeting with the Traditional Chinese Medicine Association, the Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam Gala dinner, the Sikh Centennial Gala, the Holocaust Remembrance Day Ceremony, the Khalsa Day Parade, the Armenian Genocide Commemoration, the Ontario's Happy Spring Gala hosted by the Canadian Association of Acupuncture and the Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chinese Community Centre of Ontario (Taiwan) Spring Gala.

Why do I support John Tory for Mayor?

“I was born in Toronto and lived almost my entire life here. Ever since amalgamation I've seen a city at war with itself. Downtown vs. suburbs, left verses right, rich vs. poor, newcomers vs. life-long residents. After every mayoral election I've seen the civic government lurch from one extreme to the other. The mayor would favor their narrow support base over the rest of the city until the inevitable backlash swung the pendulum the other way. Since amalgamation we've seen our infrastructure crumble and Toronto’s economy decline due to these petty political fights. After 4 years of Rob Ford I see the inevitable backlash in Olivia Chow. And if Chow wins there will be a backlash yet again. Toronto can’t function like this. We need a mayor who will look at the city as a whole, and will enact policies benefiting a majority of its residents. After 16 years of being a city at war with itself we need to stop. We need to look at what will help us in the long term opposed to short term bribes in the form of a small tax cut or slight increase in services. We need a mayor who will fix the issues Toronto faces instead using the anger of their supporters for their political gain. We need a mayor who tells the truth instead of lies until their supporters believe it. If Tory did not want what was best for the City of Toronto he would have given up after his first electoral defeat in 2003. Instead he devoted his life to civic activism and charitable causes and kept trying again. John Tory is the mayor Toronto needs to ensure all of his residents benefit and to tackle the issues of transit, poverty, and anemic economic growth before they irrecoverably overwhelm us.”

3月1日下午，多伦市长候选人庄德利来到大多伦多中华文化中心，与华裔社区领袖及媒体见面并接受访问。自由党成员，安省旅游、文化和体育厅厅长陈国治与自由党国会议员麦家廉皆与会为庄德利助阵。庄德利的竞选班子，包括协助自由党省长韦恩(Kathleen Wynne)夺取党领的艾利森(Tom Allison)。瞧这些庄德利身边的支持者, 整个一个史振民二次参选多伦市长. 我怀疑, 庄德利是不是秘密加入自由党了, 所以才有这么多重量级的自由党人为庄德利卖命?:laugh:

我这周接到议员和多伦多自由党魁给我家打来的电话，要我支持某人，被我婉拒了，要不要看看我写的婉拒信？？

我只是一个加拿大公民，我看重手中的选票，我从来不是一个不动脑子就激动随流的女人

因此，我感谢主，靠着他，我在大事面前的选择，他————我头顶的那位神，没有一样让我做错过

所以，我把话撂在这里了：庄先生胜出 ————这是艰难抉择面前，较为稳妥的选择
