My thinking is following : (only for chatting and reference)
(1) There is no absolute criteria to judge that kind of matter which is right or wrong. And we can approach this question from different angles. One hundred percent for sure, different people have different viewpoints.
(2) My own special points about achievement, career or business is that: You can find a pile of reasons of succeed if you want to be successful; you also can find a mountain of excuses of failure if you only want to be successful under social pressure or by a shortcut. It depends on yourself.
(3) Once Abraham Lincoln refused a talent for a suitable position, he answered his friend about this question that a public person should be responsible of his appearance and the talent was ugly. I understand the “appearance” and “ugly” refer to performance or behaviour in public.
(4) When I was in China, usually it was not refundable for any sale. After I moved to Toronto, some stores, such as Canadian Tire, exercise the policy of refunding without questions. Every policy has different reasons to defend. Once I chatted with a manager of Canadian Tire in an annual job fair about this matter, he told me, “Generally 90% customers are reasonable, who do not want to hurt his community. However, if a store hurts a person’s feeling, it might hurt him in his whole life and sow the seeds of hatred from him and all his relatives. We weigh the balance. We have to always use a polite way to deal with any matter except for stopping violence. That is why this policy becomes the corner-stone of our company.”
(5) Let’s pick up the thread. The chatting rooms or forums in 51.ca, in my understanding, should be a public place for our Chinese community (Thanks to Mr. Zhao’s 2 brothers, who contributed it to our Chinese community and also help their own business). It should be a tolerant, cheerful place under law to attract our Chinese to stay together to exchange information, our thoughts, and argument. Even if you disagree with me every time, I still hope you to stay here to express your ideas.
That is right: "版主也是网友,不是机器人。" However,"版主" is not a regular "网友", but a tough side。 If he or she enjoy being a regular "网友", nobody will oppose him or her. We cannot mix the two situations.
What I really want to say:
Even If a regular user violates the regulations, Can we use a soft way to correct it? Can we avoid hurting the tolerant, cheerful environment for the public? Can we become an open-mind and sophisticated 版主 with a neutral position for any argument? Do we have to sow the seeds of hatred? I think this is a question for the team of management.
Good point!
Nice to meet you here. |
