Both USA and Canada collect tax based on worldwide income.
In your situation, you have to pay both, but the total amount will not exceed the tax you pay to one country. For example, based on your income, if you have to pay 30% to Canada and you have paid 25% to USA, you then pay 5% to Canada only, and vice versa.
In order not to pay tax to the Canadian government, you must apply for non resident status, provided you no longer have any financial ties with Canada, e.g. no house, no bank acccount, no life insurance, no investment and no regular visits to Canada.
