I have placed bids on ebay real estate property numerous times and have won about 20 of them. Sold most of them and currently kept 3. 2 are vacation properties and 1 residential.
You can buy land or house on ebay. Land may cost as low as a dollar and house a few hundred dollars.
Most of these properties are very remote, so do not expect any rental income from them.
Houses can be of very poor conditions. Some do not have power or water or are not in a livable condition without major renovation.
Property tax can be as high as a few thousand dollars a year, so you pay without using your property.
Pay attention to the property right. Some do not come with a clear title. Some come with a quitclaim deed, i.e. the seller warranty he or she will not claim you but would not guarantee others would not.
Also pay attention to the closing cost, ranging from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars.
This is not for everyone. Only very sophisticated buyers will benefit. Therefore, learn before you act.
