Sorry!!! If you are looking at public transportation, greyhound bus is the cheapest way to get you from Toronto and Ottawa.And it does cost you 77 bucks one way.

You can try and see if someone can borrow you a car for free.There's about 400 km of road that seperates the 2 cities.So, with the high gas price these days, I would say you'll have to spend $50-60 on gas if you drive to Ottawa.So, you should see 77 bucks as a reasonable price.
