Idioms and expressions with birds
这周的成语跟”鸟”有关。

1.A birdbrain – someone with little intelligence.Don’t ask him anything complicated.He’s such a birdbrain.
[愚蠢的人]——别问他任何复杂的事,他真是个愚蠢的人。

2.An eagle eye, eagle-eyed – to be able to see well, keen sight.He notices everything.He’s got such an eagle eye (or he’s really eagle-eyed).
[目光锐利的,有眼力的]——他关注一切。他是如此目光锐利。

3.An early bird – someone who gets up or arrives somewhere early.A well-known expression is, “The early bird catches the worm” which means the first person to arrive somewhere gets the best choice.
[早到者]——有句话说得好,“早起的鸟儿有虫吃”,意思是最先到达某个地方的人会得到最好的选择。

4.a chicken or chicken – someone who’s afraid to do something.Even though he can swim well, he won’t jump off the diving board.He’s such a chicken.

5.to eat like a bird – to eat very little.She will always stay skinny.She eats like a bird.
[吃得很少]——她老是瘦得皮包骨。她吃得很少。
