Fair enough. I am back and forth between Beijing & Toronto, I think this comparison is close. It is not a bad benchmarck for those who try to figure out how much $ they earn between Beijing, Shanghai & Toronto as well as their living standard in these cities.
Two things we all need to be aware:
1)- overall income and living standard in China including these big cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou.... are growing or rising at MUCH faster pace. But, in Canada, we won't see that.
2)- onel factor is current exchange rate CAD$ 1:6 RMB$, people like us live in US or Canada are taking the advantage: we make six times more income than people in China. Imagine, if RMB's volue is incraesed by 5%, and I am sure it will be in the next 6~8 years, more and more Canadian will be short on money if they visit China. |
