I don't think Canadian economy will be better in 1 year. Just see how US economy is sliding to a worse situation and stock market is down recently, you can guest what a dream a weak economy depending on US export can get better quickly. I remember newspapers have said "economy slows down", but in fact, the reality is "great recession"  not just "slow down" since March,2001.

好高兴这里还有讨论经济问题的 MM 。 stock market can serve as an indication of economy outlook, but it is usually 12 months-16 months ahead of time. on the other hand, many factors can cause short-term volatility.  that is to say, if the stock market is down recently, you can not say that the economy will not rebound in 1 year.
