看到中国四川省遭受地震灾害的新闻和图片, 我深深地悲伤和痛苦. 昨晚看了OMNI2新闻之后, 我在加拿大红十字会捐了款....

加拿大红十字会网站已经开通"救助中国地震"在线捐款项目.

网址http://www.redcross.ca/

进入主页后选donate now! ----> donate online

第一部分, 填写个人信息.
第二部分, 记住一定要选"China Earthquake", 然后填钱数(25,50,75,100,其他)
第三部分, 填你的信用卡号和信息.
第四部分, 填验证码.
最后提交.

之后, 你将收到捐款收据(receipt). 保存好收据, 报税时可以抵税.

红十字会作为一个世界性质的非盈利机构，它的公信力是得到广泛承认的，我曾经呼吁中领馆开设一个赈灾的户口，方便大家捐款，但是没有得到及时地答复。所以目前情况下，通过红十字会救助，我个人以为是最有效的方式。支持一下。

网上得知多伦多的四川同乡会也在捐款, 但没有更多的信息, 不知道在哪里.

You can have Tax Receipt with minimum donation of $20.

要calculate donation credit的，可以参考以下的表(you can have some credit back from government when you file your tax return).


Donation Tax Credit

The donation tax credit gives a return equivalent to the lowest marginal tax rate (in your province) x $200 on the first $200 that you donate, and the highest marginal tax rate tax credit on the remainder. Below is a table of the lowest and highest marginal tax rate for 2007 by province/territory:

红十字不能保证你捐的钱款用于中国地震抗灾。听说指标只有百万左右（待确认）。多余的钱将被转移到International Disaster Relief Fund。

How We Care For Your Donations to our Appeals

Should donations supporting a specific Red Cross disaster relief effort surpass the amount required, the remainder will be directed as follows:

    * Donations exceeding the amount required by Red Cross to respond to a specific Canadian disaster will be directed to the Canadian Disaster Relief Fund - a fund that provides support to people affected by future domestic disasters.
    * Donations exceeding the amount required by Red Cross to respond to a specific International disaster will be directed to the International Disaster Relief Fund - a fund that provides support to people affected by future international disasters
