A while ago this year, a report released by StatCan claimed that the crime rate has dropped several years in a row except the murder rate. I have always been wondering why I felt differently.

I do not live in Toronto. But the sense of safety has been deteriorated sharply in the past a few years in my town. The number of REPORTED crimes might have dropped only because people stopped reporting crimes since the police normally would do nothing.

One family from China had to move 3 apartments to avoid break-ins. They reported the first time but all police did was to give them a case number. Our neighbor told me that his bikes had been stolen three times and he never reported since he knew no help from the police. The media likes to paint a rosy picture when in fact the reality is just the opposite.

I like Canada because it is getting more and more like the China I knew.:-)

you like canada because you don't know it, you dislike  china because you know her very well. my suggestion for you is that please don't be so naive and childish, you must accept the fact that basicly, every society is the same,just because they are composed of human beings. in this line, considering that canadian population is only one fortith of that of china, we can easily and safely image that if canada has the same population as china does, canda will definitely perform much worse.
