It's normal. Usually, when there are too many posts, or when they think that too many inappropriate posts that could make them liable for leaving the posts on it, they close the forum. For example, many of the Ford supporting posts on this site, like those anti-gay comments, would not be tolerated by the Canadian society. T Star could be sued for discrimination if they don't delete such posts fast enough. Considering the rudeness of Ford supporters, it is not hard to imaging (I am just imaging) that there could be a lot of such posts. To avoid trouble, they have to close the forum. Sometime, they even say the forum is close for legal concerns.
